Seth Meyers Wiki Biography
Seth Adam Meyers was born on 28 December 1973 in Evanston, Illinois US, of Jewish and Czech-Austrian (father) and Swedish, German and English (mother) descent, and is an actor, voice actor, screenwriter, producer and television host. Seth Meyers is probably best known for his job as a writer on NBC’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ and as a host of the ‘Saturday Night Live’ sketch ‘Weekend Update’ on NBC.
So just how rich is Seth Meyers? Sources estimate that Seth’s net worth has recently reached $10 million, accumulated during his career in the entertainment industry, since beginning in 2001.
Seth Meyers Net Worth $10 Million
Seth Meyers was actually raised in New Hampshire, where he attended Manchester High School West, but then graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston. Seth Meyers’ brother Josh is also an actor, and although Seth Meyers began his career as an actor in improvisation sketch group Mee-Ow of Northwestern University, later he and his brother Josh Meyers worked with the improvisation group called Preponderate. However, the real accumulation of Seth Meyers’ net worth began in 2004 when he starred in the film ‘See This Movie’ directed by David Rosenthal. Afterwards, he played several roles in short films like ‘Maestro’, ‘Thunder Road’ and ‘The Adventures of Big Handsome Guy and His Little Friend’. Moreover, he had some minor roles in the films ‘American Dreamz’ directed by Paul Weitz, ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’ directed by Eric Brevig, ‘Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist’ by Peter Sollett, ‘Spring Breakdown’ by Ryan Shiraki among others.
Despite his career as an actor, the main source of Seth’s net worth is believed to be the ‘Saturday Night Live’ show. He entered the show in 2001, and after four years he was promoted to writing supervisor, and later Seth together with Tina Fey and Andrew Steele developed into co-head writers. The ‘Saturday Night Live’ show was awarded the Writers Guild of America Award for Comedy/Variety in 2009, in 2010 and Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics in 2011. Every year the ‘Saturday Night Live’ show is nominated for various Awards, which shows that it is loved and evaluated by public and critics, and which also helps the continued growth of Meyers net worth.
Seth Meyers net worth has risen not only for his work in ‘Saturday Night Live’, but from appearing in episodes of the sitcoms ‘Spin City’ created by Gary David Goldberg and Bill Lawrence, and ‘The Mindy Project’ created by Mindy Kaling. He is also the creator, writer, executive producer and voice artist of the animated web comedy ‘The Awesomes’, streamed on Hulu. Besides this, he has hosted the Webby Awards ceremony, 2010 ESPY Awards, and 2011 ESPY Awards. Seth will probably add to his net worth because he is announced as the host of the upcoming 66th Primetime Emmy Awards which will be held on 25 August 2014.
Additionally, Meyers increased his popularity and also net worth after his successful participation in Celebrity Poker Showdown, where he won $100,000 prize, and donated all the money to the Boston-based Jimmy Fund which raises funds to endorse adult and pediatric cancer care and research. Seth Meyers has supported Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns during his two presidential elections.
In his private life, Seth Meyers married human rights lawyer Alexi Ashe in 2013.
